The US is reinstating the military base here and it has brought a wave of customers. Tonight as we walked the street fellow Americans started to stop and ask us why we are here. As we tell them they look sorry they asked. Most tell us what we are doing is good but, all continue on their way with no regard for the lives around them.
Many of the girls here are more innocent and naive than your average American teenager. This makes them prime targets as they have no one to protect and care for them. We met two such 20 year old girls Maria and Jane. Both not able to finish high school because, they can’t afford it. We invited them to coffee with us tomorrow and we can’t wait to get to know them.
Here is an update on the 15 year old that stayed with us last night. She is safe in Manila now at the hope house. Her guardian gave permission for her to live and go to school with us! I don’t think we can fully understand what a miracle it is that we even ran into her at a market. One down 15 thousand to go!
