Last night was our first night ministering in the bars with the team that has just arrived from the US. We split up into several small groups to invade an area heavily populated with human trafficking.

My group was 2 women and one Filipino guy friend. I took them to the largest bar first so, they could see and understand what is happening here. Historically security has been tight and we have been asked to leave but, tonight we had favor!

My teammates were nervous about the night wondering how or if they would be able to reach out to the women. Once we were seated women began to approach, which is not normal! It is expected that the company of a girl is to be paid for. We were able to speak openly with groups of women inviting them to the Girls Getaway vacation/conference. The tenderness of my teammates poured out and they ministered so naturally!

We purchased some drinks for the girls as we spoke with them because, they get a commission for them. In our excitement we ran up a tab we did not have the money to pay for! Just a few dollars short, my team mate Kaylee and I prayed over our pooled money for multiplication. Kaylee said “just keep counting it until there is enough”. After a minute or two of counting a man (customer) walked by on his way to the VIP seating. I turned to him and quickly said, “may I barrow 100 pesos?” He immediately pulled a bill out and handed it to me! I was pretty shocked and just bleated out a thank you. Then he said “by the way that’s a thousand”, and walked off. It was enough to cover our entire tab and then some. I’m reminded in that moment prayer is always answered in an unexpected way, that I can always be expectant for the unexpected.

We have been in communication since that night with the girls we met. They really wanted to come to the Getaway but, they were not granted permission to go. The girls are fined by the establishment they work for if they do not show up and must ask for permission to even leave their living quarters. I am expectant that the relationship we have already formed will provide a way to continue to reach these wonderful friends.

I am still in need of fundraising to continue nights such as this one. Please consider supporting me through the support link at the top. My mission is to search for each girl and bring them into the loving arms of Wipe Every Tear (wipeeverytear.org) for complete restoration.
