A New Creation
Tonight we had a discussion about inner beauty. Each of us was describing what our interpretation is. Our conversation took a turn into some of the girls talking about how they have become more beautiful on the inside since they came to the safe house.
The girls described how their attitudes had changed for the better. My good friend Lynn shared a story about coming home late for curfew a couple months ago. She saw our director still chatting inside the house and feared getting caught by her. Lynn ran to hide in the brush and had to swat at mosquitoes and other insect life while she waited. We all laughed at how silly it was. Then our director told Lynn how proud she is of her transformation. The beaming delight on Lynn’s face was priceless.
Lynn has only been living here for a few months but, she is already an example for the new girls. That they are no long a product of their old environment. They are truly a new creation.
